18 Unsolved Mysteries of Indian History

The Indian history has many mysteries that still amaze people and left them with no answer. Scientists and historians have done a lot of research with no concrete result. Read more about these enigmas as follows:

1. Taj Mahal or Tejo Mahalaya

As per the popular historian Mr. P.N. Oak, Taj Mahal was older than that is shown in the history. He mentioned that Taj Mahal was actually a Lord Shiva temple namely Tejo Mahalaya. Shah Jahan reconstructed the Shiva temple into Taj Mahal and falsely dedicated it to his beloved wife Mumtaz. Shah Jahan captured the temple from the king of Agra, Jai Singh. Shah Jahan also accepted in his Badshahnama that he took a beautiful mansion from Jai Singh in Agra for his wife’s memorial. Many rooms were sealed by Shah Jahan which are still not open for public. It is believed that these rooms have idols of Lord Shiva and objects that are used in Hindu rituals.

2. A Man Lives Without Food and Water

Can someone live without eating and drinking anything for many years? Scientifically it is not possible but this happened in India. A man called Chunriwala Mataji claimed that he has been living without food and water since 1940. He told that he has blessings of goddess Amba. Scientists have also studied on him in vain.

3. Mystery of Indus Valley Civilization

The Indus valley was the larger than the ancient Mesopotamian and Egyptian civilizations. Perhaps it was the largest civilization of the ancient times. But, nobody knows how it disappeared. Researches have not yet provided the real conclusion.

4. Rebirth of Shanti Devi

Reincarnation of Shanti Devi also amazed Mahatma Gandhi and he started investigation on her. She was born in 1926 and at the age of 4 she told about her previous birth. Many reports have been written on her reincarnation.

5. Paintings of Alien On Rocks In Charama

10,000 years old paintings by ancient humans were made on rocks in Charama, a town in Bastar in Chhattisgarh. Archaeologists have done deep research on these rock paintings. Villagers believe that Rohela aliens used to come in their village and take one or two along with them in sky, who never returned. Flying objects are also depicted alongside these alien paintings.

6. Death of Lal Bahadur Shashtri

Lal Bahadur Shastri, the first Prime Minister of India suddenly died in Tashkent. He just worked for around 2 years in office. His dead body had cut marks and blue spots that caused the major cause of concern. No post-mortem happened and even there was no official document for his death. It was really a strange thing that occurred to the most elite personality of India.

7. Hidden Treasures In Son Bhandar Caves of Bihar

The Son of Bhandar cave of Rajgir in Bihar is known for the hidden treasures. It is believed that when the son of Bimbisara, who was the Magadhan king captured him then he told his wife to hide the treasures in these caves. The British also tried to destroy the doorway using cannonball to find the treasures in vain.

8. Disappearance of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose

The death of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose has no concrete answer. He disappeared after leaving for Tokyo from Taipei from an airplane. Nobody knows thereafter where the great leader of India disappeared. After a few years, people of Faizabad in Uttar Pradesh used to claim a saint as Bose. The saint was called as Gumnami Baba.

9. The Nine Unknown Men

The mysterious nine unknown men were found out by the Emperor Ashoka way back in 273 BC at the end of the battle of Kalinga. These nine unknown men were known to have in-depth knowledge of books in specific subjects. These men believed to have supreme powers.

10. Chapati Movement

During Indian Rebellion of 1857, the vast distribution of chapattis all across the country made it a great movement. The well-known chapati movement served food to poor people in India. British government also got amazed to see the vast movement and became surprised.

11. Secret Treasure Trove of Mir Osman Ali

The 7th and last Nizam of Hyderabad, Mir Osman Ali Khan was popular for his mannerisms and his collection of treasure and jewelleries. In 1937 Time Magazine stated his as the richest man on earth. After his death, his treasure never found out. It is believed that his treasure is dig inside the King Kothi Palace’s chambers, where he spent most of his life in Hyderabad.

12. Kuldhara Haunted Village

Located around 20 kilometers away from Jaisalmer, Kuldhara is known for ghosts. The village is completely inhabitant. Earlier in the village was populated by hundreds of people. But, suddenly one day whole people left the village. It is believed that they left the village because of the evil activities of the ruler Salim Singh. After that day the village is empty and nobody lives there. People say that the ghosts of the village make noises and wonder around at night.

13. The 500-year old Mummy

There is a 500-year old mummy of Lama Tenzin placed in a village namely Ghuen in Himalayas. The mummy is known for its mummification naturally designed and protected in a small room under a glass sheet. The fifteenth century old mummy of Buddhist monk was exclusively preserved.

14. Nana Saheb’s Sudden Disappearance

After the Indian Rebellion of 1857, Nana Saheb suddenly disappeared. Nobody knew where he had gone. He was one of the top leaders of the freedom movement. He had a lot of treasures during that time. People believe that he went to Nepal with his treasures.

15. Hidden Treasures In Jaigarh Fort

It is believed that Man Singh, the defence minister of Akbar hid the treasures in Jaigarh Fort after winning the war in Afghanistan. This secret treasure mystery came into limelight in 1977 when that time’s Prime Minister Indira Gandhi started a search for the hidden treasures. But nothing was found.

16. Ghost Soldier On Guarding Indian Border

A brave soilder, Harbhajan Singh who died in while serving for his nation in Nathula Pass in Sikkim has a shrine that locals built on his bravery. He is popular as “Hero of Nathula” who served the Indian army in the toughest situation in Himalayas.

17. Yeti In Himalayas

Yeti is more than a story in Himalayan region. It is believed that Yeti drags people to unknown places. Some people say that it eats humans and others say it cures their health problems. Many people have seen Yeti and they openly express their view about it.

18. Sonic Boom of Jodhpur

The sonic boom of Jodhpur that happened in 2012 is still unsolved mystery. The airplane moved over the residential areas in the city and created panic. The incident occurred due to air force training but army denied this allegation.
